• Secure All Entry Points:

  • Upgrade Locks: Go beyond standard doorknob locks. Invest in commercial-grade deadbolts on all exterior doors. Consider high-security locks that are pick and bump resistant.
  • Reinforce Doors and Frames: Many break-ins involve forced entry through weak door frames or flimsy doors. Install heavy-duty strike plates with long screws that penetrate the wall studs. Ensure doors are solid core, not hollow. Don't forget backdoors or lesser-used entrances – these are often the weakest links.
  • Window Security: All windows should have strong, functional locks. For ground-floor or easily accessible windows, consider shatter-resistant film or even security bars/grilles if the aesthetic allows.
