About

I grew up in Fairfield, Connecticut. Even as a young child, I was interested in fashion relating to clothing and the home. Coordinating fabrics and styles captured my attention as far back as I can remember. Vocational tests confirmed my strong desire to do something artistic and creative as well as help others. My eighth grade autobiography stated, "When I grow up, I want to be an interior decorator." In high school, my senior class voted me "best dressed."After graduating from high school, I attended the College of Design, Architecture and Art at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. I received two degrees: a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Education.I started my career teaching art at a college preparatory high school in Cincinnati. I discovered that I had a passion for art and design as well as a need to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with others. My emphasis was always on art awareness, teaching my students to look and see art and design everywhere. Also, I encouraged them to express themselves profoundly through their work. I found teaching to be very rewarding, but still had the heartfelt desire to be an interior designer.
