Shawnee Winery Cooperative was formed in 2004 to create a market for small grape growers in the Southern Illinois area. The idea was to develop a secure market for each year{s harvest and to provide a value added bonus of patronage from the sale of wine made from the members{ grapes. With major support from the USDA and the State of Illinois, Shawnee Winery has become a reality. Shawnee Winery was the 16th winery to open its doors in Illinois.
