After raising four children in the suburbs of the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, Catoctin Breeze Vineyard founders, Wojciech and Alicja Fizyta, decided to move to the country to celebrate their life-long passion for wine and fascination with viticulture by starting a vineyard. We instantly fell in love with the spectacular views of the beautiful rolling hills of the Catoctin Mountains. The exceptional limestone soil, so rare to Maryland, coupled with the southern and eastern exposure of the hillside ultimately convinced us that this location was the perfect place for our vineyard.
