In 1979 Bob Carmichael decided to go to jewelery school in Selma, Alabama. He completed all the required courses at Holland School for Jewelers and then apprenticed under Wendell Cheatham, Master Jeweler, for 2 years. Having received his certificate as a Master Jeweler and GIA Graduate Gemologist, he opened his own business. Now, 26 years later, Bob is still at work behind the bench. But now he has a partner, his daughter, Shannon Carmichael Miller. During her 10 year apprenticeship, she also completed all the required courses to receive her certificate as a Master Jeweler from Holland School for Jewelers.The first time you come into Carmichael{s you may be surprised by our laid-back atmosphere and direct honesty.
