Our practice is a father-son team of Dr. Wayne Simmons and Dr. Bryhn Simmons.  Both are trained prosthodontists practicing in San Antonio, Texas.  Dr. Wayne Simmons has been in practice in San Antonio since 1978 with Dr. Bryhn Simmons joining in 2005.  Dr. Wayne Simmons also practices in Charleston/Summerville, South Carolina.  Dr. Wayne Simmons received his Dental degree in 1974 and his Prosthodontic Specialty training and certification in 1976.  He has been a clinical professor in Crown and Bridge at the University of Texas, San Antonio, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology and Implant Dentistry, written numerous articles, and has given lectures and courses both in the United States and abroad.  Dr. Bryhn Simmons received his dental degree in 2002 and his Prosthodontic specialty certification and residency in 2005.  He has been in private practice with Dr. Wayne Simmons the past four years.  Dr. Bryhn Simmons received extensive surgical and reconstructive training in all elements of prosthodontics with an emphasis on dental implants.Both Doctors place a heavy emphasis on the utilization of dental implants in their practices. In addition to being trained Prosthodontists, both Dr. Wayne Simmons and Dr. Bryhn Simmons have advanced training and experience in surgically placing and restoring dental implants.  They provide surgical replacement of missing teeth, root structures and bone by incorporating dental implants and, when necessary, bone grafting in the treatment for their patients. Dental implants typically require two distinctive phases of treatment; the first phase is the surgical placement of an implant into the bone to provide a functional replacement of a missing root (roots) of a tooth (teeth). The second phase is the fabrication and attachment of the tooth (teeth) to the implant(s). Dr. Simmons routinely provides these services for his patients.
