Dr. Peterson is a graduate of Colorado State University with a B.S. and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Upon graduation, he accepted a position with a small animal practitioner in Salt Lake. Four years later he purchased the practice he had started in. Dr. Peterson has had a specialty interest in neurology and neurosurgery since 1975. He is frequently receiving neurological patient referrals from his colleagues both locally and out of state. He has been in a small animal practice in Utah and a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Utah Veterinary Medical Association continually since 1971. He has served as past presidents of the Salt Lake Veterinary Medical Association and the Utah Veterinary Medical Association. He was nominated and awarded Veterinarian of the Year in 1998. Dr. Peterson and his wife live in Salt Lake City and have a son in the United States Army and daughter working as a designer in Los Angeles. Currently they keep their hands full with “never ending” home improvement projects and their “terrorist” of a Scottish terrier, Gavin.
