It is also a native plant of Australia.Researchers have discovered gold particles in the leaves of the Eucalyptus which suggests that below these trees, hidden beneath layers of sediment, there may be small but rich deposits of gold ore. These findings are not an entirely new breakthrough discovery but more of a revelation in a long stemming (pun intended) debate over whether or not gold dust particles found themselves on the trees from being blown about by winds or if gold is being genuinely taken up by the trees roots.
