MPP has established itself as a statewide resource through its diverse collection of trustworthy publications including the Southwest Journal, Downtown Journal, Minnesota Parent and Minnesota Good Age.In 1990, Janis Hall and Terry Gahan started the Southwest Journal in the basement of their home. While the business grew — and added staff and office space — Janis and Terry learned how best to serve readers through strong community journalism. When they purchased the Skyway News (now the Downtown Journal) in 2001, they were ready to bring those skills to the fast-growing community of Downtown Minneapolis residents and workers.
