With recent new additions to the fiber network, the Texas Lone Star Network (TLSN) now operates over 6,225 fiber route miles lit with Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) Next Generation Network capabilities in Texas and New Mexico. TLSN offers 10Gig optical wavelength, Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) and SONET transport services over 3,000 fiber route miles in Texas via Cisco 15454 ONS Multiservice Transport Platform (MSTP). TLSN{s DWDM Network is configured in 2 large North rings (see Network Map) that mesh with the South ring at San Antonio. The north rings stretch from Dallas to Midland and the south ring stretches from San Antonio to Harlingen. The Austin - Houston, Midland - Alpine and Dallas - Longview routes are equipped with Cyan{s Packet-Optical DWDM.
