Dixie’s passion for photography began in high school. She began her career as a newspaper photo journalist in California, then moved to Arkansas and was a BioMedical Photographer for 10 years at UAMS. Believing wholeheartedly that you “create your own reality”, Dixie began her new self made reality in 1986 and started her own business as a Advertising and Portrait Photographer. Evolution and fate have driven Dixie to be a premiere Portraitist. Her attention to detail and her ability to relax her subjects in front of the camera are what makes her portraits come alive. “My goal is to capture the true essence of the person being photographed. When I reach that moment in the session then I know I have done my job. I have, without a doubt, been blessed through these years, because I have been able to make a living by following my life’s passion
