The Lancaster Volunteer Ambulance Corps, also known as the LVAC, is a nonprofit EMS agency in Lancaster, NY certified by the New York State Department of Health. The Corps serves the Village & Town of Lancaster and the Village of Depew. We were founded in 1953 as one of the first volunteer ambulance services in Western New York. The LVAC has been providing pre-hospital emergency care to the community for more than 50 years, adapting to changes in the EMS field and embracing the latest technologies.LVAC responds 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is a combination EMS agency with a career staff on duty 24/7 supplemented by a volunteer staff. The LVAC responds to more than 3,000 EMS requests each year. It is dispatched by the Lancaster Police Department and receives online medical direction through the Erie County Medical Center.
