Jacksonville native, Frederick Douglas Newbill has been pastor of First Timothy Baptist Church since May 1987. Under his leadership, the congregation has grown from 150 to more than 1000 members. Early in his pastorate, First Timothy physically moved from a small building at Hart and Barnett to its present location on Biscayne Blvd. in north Jacksonville. He is an innovative and energetic practitioner of his faith. Pastor Newbill is a Spirit-filled, gifted pastor and teacher who is totally committed to his calling and ministries. As a result, many hearts have been blessed and many souls have been saved throughout his 14 year tenure at First Timothy. He believes in striving for the advancement of God{s Church and promoting its prosperity and spirituality.
