Sun Grove Montessori School is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt, non-discriminatory educational facility completely committed to providing the Montessori Philosophy of learning to the community since 1978. Montessori programs are available to children from six weeks through 8th grade. The Infant and Toddler environments are prepared to aid in the natural development of the child in physically safe, cognitively challenging, and emotionally nurturing surroundings. The primary environment mixes three, four, and five year old children and offers an ungraded, individualized learning experience structured to each child’s unique learning potential. Elementary is divided into two mixed-age classrooms (6-9 year olds & 9-12 year olds). Students in the elementary classes continue their work in a stress-free, ungraded environment designed to move them toward mental work at an abstract level. The Montessori Middle School provides opportunities and support for adolescents as they gain self-knowledge and self-confidence. It includes traditional and advanced subjects as well as the creation of a business. Sun Grove Montessori School has a family-oriented atmosphere and fosters parental involvement through fundraising and volunteer activities and several social events every year.
