As an honors graduate from The Corcoran Gallery of Art Steve studied the classics, and was the only student paid to publish his photographs in the school magazine. He was particularly drawn to a group of artists called the Pre-Raphaelites. They were a consortium of eight artists who were crying out for a return to the classics in art. At their time, popular art was de-saturated and mass produced, and they felt, had lowered the standards in the art world. Steve is a modern day renaissance Pre-Raphaelite. He shoots his photos in an artistic and creative style with edgy lighting, so they are timeless
