How we got startedIn 1993 Don and Jacquelynn got married.  Don had already owned an American Eskimo named, Lady.  We decided to get a friend for Lady.  This lead to the purchase of our first show dog, Nanook, BISS, BIS, AM.CH., UKC GR. CH. Int CH. Kodiak{s Nanook Sno Paden, CD, CGC.  We soon started looking for a female to breed him to.  Once we bought our Georgi girl, AM CH, UKC, CH, Int. Ch Besota{s Country Girl By Cody, we started breeding and achieved the Top Producers List with both Nanook and Georgi. This started the 18 year breeding, grooming, boarding, and training dogs.   When Nanook was only a young pup we met Donna Sullivan.  Donna has been breeder, trainer, Professional dog handler, since she was 17 years old.  Donna took Nanook and trained him to achieve the titles he did.  We became great friends and partners.  We have co-owned dogs, did breeding, and worked with our dogs together ever sense.  Kodiak Pet Hotel and Spa employs only of the most experienced and talented Certified Pet Care Technicians. Each of our groomers has ample experience in professional grooming. While each person tends to specialize in a breed or size, they each groom all breeds of dogs and cats with superior ability.HoursGrooming at Kodiak Pet Hotel & Spa is generally by appointment. Pets are dropped off between 7 am and 12 pm. We estimate your pick-up time when you drop off and almost always accommodate your schedule. You may pick up as late as 6 pm.We never put your pet in a cage; all pets get to play before the grooming session. At Kodiak Pet Hotel & Spa, we let the pets play in our custom-designed play areas while waiting for their appointment; never in cages or kennels. In fact, many people drop their pets off early to play first for a few hours; this is always fine with us, and we never charge extra.Note: Pets who prefer not to play are placed in a run or in the grooming room where they keep the groomers company. All pets are allowed to play in the play areas before going in for their bath. Arraignments can be made to drop off or pick up after hours for a small fee.  We have someone on site 24 hours.
