Mark is a Behavioural Optometrist and Irlen Diagnostician who has been practicing Optometry at Shattky Optometrists in Hastings for over 25 years. Mark has a particular skill and passion for helping those faced with difficulties associated with reading problems, dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, learning and brain injuries.Maree Gallagher and Michelle Urquhart are our Irlen Screeners. They have both found their Irlen work quite awe inspiring. Maree and Michelle screen the children who appear to be having visual problems associated with their reading difficulties. Using Irlen coloured sheets, They find out whether Irlen Spectral Filters are likely to be a solution for these children. If they do, then they will be referred to Mark Eagle, Irlen Diagnostician, to refine the diagnosis and prescribe Irlen tinted spectacle lenses. .
