Shahbehram Khodayar Atai first set up Aryan Bakery in the city (1939) and was one of the pioneers of healthy, packaged bread loaves of consistent quality, as opposed to bread from the unorganised sector as well as ‘pau’, the local bread, from your baker around the corner. He was the first to introduce sandwich bread and literally start a new eating habit.
