Incepted in 1956, today MMA is a name to reckon with when it comes to Management Expertise in India. The Name: Founded as the Madras Institute of Management (MIM) in August 1956 under the meritorious president Dr. A. Lakshmanaswamy Mudaliar, the illustrious Vice-Chancellor of Madras University, MIM was formally inaugurated with twenty institutional members on September 19, 1956. On becoming a part of AIMA, in 1957 the name MIM was changed to MMA and has been the same ever since.
