Ed has been a professional photographer in Edmonton for many years. First as Ed Ellis Photo, then shortened to Ellis Photo and currently, Ellis Brothers Photography Ltd.After finishing two years studying photography at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technologey Ed found himself on tour as a photographer/roadie with The Alberta Ballet Company, shortly after began providing photography to all of Edmonton{s major arts groups. In the late Eighties Ed brought his younger brother Terry into the business, together they expanded the business to include more advertising and commercial clients.Today Ed operates the company alone and enjoys a broad range of photographic projects, one day shooting in a coal mine, the next day shooting production photos of an opera. In 2009 Ed{s work in the arts was recognized with the John Poole Award for Arts Promotion at the Mayor{s Arts Awards Gala.
