Since 1997, Community Music Initiatives has been providing families of the Greater Edmonton Region with improved access to music education opportunities. In that time, Community Music has established itself as a reliable provider of high quality private instruction in piano, voice, violin and guitar.Community Music instructors are talented musicians and experienced teachers, chosen for their knowledge of music and their instrument, and for the energy and conviction they bring to their teaching. Promoting music literacy, proficiency and enjoyment of music is a passion that our instructors share with us.  When we say that “Music education is an education for life”, we mean that in every possible way – it opens doors to an enriched way of living, for a lifetime!Our goal is to work with the communities we serve to provide the best possible educational and cultural opportunities for their residents. We are pleased to be serving students from Fort Saskatchewan, Redwater, Morinville, Lamont, Gibbons, Bon Accord, Legal, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Devon, Calmar, Warburg, Thorsby, Beaumont and all of the associated rural areas around Edmonton.Community Music Initiatives is a not-for-profit company whose purpose is the delivery of music education services to communities where those opportunities are not as readily available as in large urban centers.  Not-for-profit companies are designated in the Alberta Companies Act as “Companies With Objects Other Than the Acquisition of Gain”, a provision created specifically for education, culture and recreation services. Community Music operates on a cost–recovery basis and works on a unique, cooperative model with the communities we serve.  We are grateful to the many groups and organizations that make space available for music lessons.
