About

Dr Sazeedul Islam and his team have introduced Tele health services in Kruger Medical Centre Harden. Tele health is the use of telecommunications technologies to deliver health-related services and information that support patient care, administrative activities, and health education. In rural areas, health care delivery systems struggle to maintain adequate numbers of clinical staff to serve their patient populations. Medical specialists are in particularly short supply. Tele health can improve convenience for patients while reducing health care system costs and increasing opportunities for clinicians. It allows patients to seek care closer to home so they do not need to travel long distances to receive consultations. Tele health can also reduce the amount of time that patients must wait for specialty care. By allowing a primary care physician to be able to manage a condition via Tele health, visits to specialists can be reduced, reducing travel and transports, and reducing patients’ health care utilization.“We are concentrating on a range of specialties for patients of all ages, and ensuring that any new Tele health services are introduced as a response to the health needs of patients in Harden.” - Dr Islam. To support patients in residential aged care facilities, the Centre will also be instituting the high-tech approach, which involves bringing high-resolution video conferencing technology to the resident{s bedside.
